250 year anniversary for the USPS!!!!

My favorite job I have had has been working for the post office. I love the customers and being able to get them their mail and packages without problems makes my heart happy.

This weekend, July 26th, 2025, marks the 250th birthday of the United States Postal Service! They gave offices budgets to go out and get decorations and some cupcakes or donuts or something like that. Everyone should be making a big deal about it this Wednesday (July 23rd 2025).

My tiny office, I would love to do some decorating and I think I just might. I have to buy my own stuff because Sturgis hasn't said anything to me about having money for this office but that's ok. And my sister might have enough left over that I can use some of theirs tomorrow too.  I was able to help her decorate part of her stuff today! Tomorrow morning really early I get to help her set it all up. Here are the decorations so far......

I decided to decorate my office with a couple left over things from my sisters office and I stopped and got some cupcakes and other small things. I think it turned out super cute! I put the whole united states post office time line on the wall even so people could see what the post office has been up to since 1775. I LOVE how my tiny office turned out. Not that I will have any customers but at least I got some decorating done.

Also, another fun thing, the post office is bringing back an old stamp!!! The voting ends on September 20, 2025 so get on there and vote for your favorite stamp to be brought back as a forever stamp!  Vote for your forever stamp!

So there you have it, the 250th anniversary of the job I have loved the most! I know I'm going to be leaving this job soon if something doesn't pan out for me and I'm going to be sad but I know I'll be able to apply again whenever I want to. That's something I will always keep in the back of my mind if I don't end up being postal for the rest of my life.

Days of 76 Rodeo Qualifications

The one thing I miss so much about South Dakota is the country. The horses, the work, the everything!!! I miss the animals we had, I miss the hard work it was to take care of all those animals, I miss living in the country so far away from everything that nothing mattered. So when I heard that the rodeo was up in Deadwood, I had to check it out. The Days of 76 rodeo happens in Deadwood every year. This year was the 103rd anniversary and I learned something new. Every day during the week, in the mornings from 8am to 10am, they have qualifications for Slack, Steer Wrestling and Team Roping.  Well, on the days I went this is what they had anyways. It is FREE and I couldn't believe I hadn't gone more then those two days! I would have went every day had I known. Friday morning I took my dad with me. Life is at it again.

 Well, another pay day down in the books. The new job is great. I love what I do. I've even lost some weight which has been good for my mental health. But now....... They cut my hours, they aren't doing what they say they will do and my paycheck....it's missing. *sigh* I just don't know what to do. I put in leave to go to my brothers wedding and to Nevada with everyone. My guy is supposed to be here for those 2 weeks and go with me but low and behold, my leave has not been approved. I applied for my Kure Beach job back and I got an offer. I think I'm going to take it. Just move back. If he is going to be coming out here from the 3rd to the 17th then I might as well just drive back with him and accept that job and at least have the comfort of my own stuff, my own place, my job that I know and can get extra hours OR the possibility of being a regular.
