Days of 76 Rodeo Qualifications

Image
The one thing I miss so much about South Dakota is the country. The horses, the work, the everything!!! I miss the animals we had, I miss the hard work it was to take care of all those animals, I miss living in the country so far away from everything that nothing mattered. So when I heard that the rodeo was up in Deadwood, I had to check it out. The Days of 76 rodeo happens in Deadwood every year. This year was the 103rd anniversary and I learned something new. Every day during the week, in the mornings from 8am to 10am, they have qualifications for Slack, Steer Wrestling and Team Roping.  Well, on the days I went this is what they had anyways. It is FREE and I couldn't believe I hadn't gone more then those two days! I would have went every day had I known. Friday morning I took my dad with me. We didn't get there until after 9am so we didn't get to see a lot but we still enjoyed every minute. Here are some pictures and videos of what we saw on Friday. On Saturday morni...

250 year anniversary for the USPS!!!!

My favorite job I have had has been working for the post office. I love the customers and being able to get them their mail and packages without problems makes my heart happy. This weekend, July 26th, 2025, marks the 250th birthday of the United States Postal Service! They gave offices budgets to go out and get decorations and some cupcakes or donuts or something like that. Everyone should be making a big deal about it this Wednesday (July 23rd 2025). My tiny office, I would love to do some decorating and I think I just might. I have to buy my own stuff because Sturgis hasn't said anything to me about having money for this office but that's ok. And my sister might have enough left over that I can use some of theirs tomorrow too.  I was able to help her decorate part of her stuff today! Tomorrow morning really early I get to help her set it all up. Here are the decorations so far...... Is that NOT the cutest LLV you've ever seen?!!!! My sister did a great job on it and it...

Koozie for the Rally time!!!

One of the best parts about being in South Dakota is getting to spend time with the siblings doing all kinds of different things. Things I would normally be doing by myself (which is no fun). The latest and greatest thing we did were make Koozies for the 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for the people that stay in my moms yard. I guess this is something that my sister does every year, or for the past few years anyways and so this year I got to help! I LOVE doing projects. I really REALLY do! So I was asked to come up with the design. The people involved thought it would be cute to put a buffalo on it since this is, of course, one of the states with the fluffy cows that people can't seem to stay away from. That being said, these are my ideas for designs for this years Koozies. After some consideration we decided on 2 different designs for this year. The saying is "where the wild ones roam" which fits for the buffalo and for it being the motorcycle rally. I mean, you do have ...

The past few years......

Life..... It changes...... Things NEVER stay the same..... Some things happen that you've never even dreamed possible...... And yet, life, it's the greatest thing you're given and are expected to take care of no matter what happens.... So here are my changes, my life and my next 25 years of hopes and dreams..... This whole blog is really just a way for me to put it out there, to look back and enjoy the memories and read my words, good and bad. A memoir of sorts. Just life. A good life. My life. My first blog was  Life In Italy!  I started this blog back in 2009 when we moved to Italy and away from all our family back in the United States. I wanted them to see our lives and to be able to tell them all about it in one place and the "blog" was the hot thing back then. I loved to write/type (I still do) and it really made my heart happy to show the family what we had been up to. So check out our life in Italy. It was truly amazing and I can't wait to go back. My ...
